Let's cook
Cut the rings
Separate the biscuits and cut a hole from the centre of each with a small round cutter or a bottle cap. Keep the holes — they cook in 3 minutes.
Do not crowd
Place 3–4 rings in the basket with clear space between. They expand a lot and will fuse together if touching.
💡Half a basket at a time. They roughly double in size.
Air fry
Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 5–6 minutes, flipping at the halfway point, until puffed and golden on both sides.
Butter and coat while hot
Brush immediately with melted butter and roll in the cinnamon sugar. The butter is what makes the sugar stick.
💡Coat them straight out of the basket. Cooled doughnuts will not take the sugar.
Or glaze
For a glazed version, whisk the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla and dip the tops once the doughnuts have cooled for 2 minutes, then add sprinkles.

📝 Tips, swaps, and make-ahead notes
These are best within about ten minutes of cooking and genuinely poor an hour later, so make them to order rather than in advance. Homemade yeasted dough works too but needs a 40-minute prove.
- •Filled: Skip the hole, air fry whole, then pipe in jam or custard with a nozzle.
- •Chocolate glaze: Melted chocolate thinned with a little cream.
- •Doughnut holes: The cut-out centres cook in 3 minutes and children prefer them.
